A full-grown neem tree can cool air equivalent to 80 tons of AC. So if you can plant neem trees around your house, then it will act like a green belt, due to which a microclimate will be created inside your house. What is microclimate? Suppose our country has a climate, now it is hot. But if you want, here you can create a different climate according to your wishes with some space.

Suppose you want to keep the temperature of a certain place a few degrees lower than the surrounding, so that it feels cool all the time, it is possible, and it is possible by creating a microclimate. Jahangirnagar University is an excellent example of such a microclimate.

To create a microclimate, many things need to be considered, such as specific trees, reservoirs, creating spaces in the right place, etc.

একটা পূর্ণ বয়স্ক নিম গাছ ৮০টন এসির সম পরিমান বাতাস ঠান্ডা করতে পারে। তো আপনার বাসার চারোদিকে ঘুরিয়ে যদি নিম গাছ লাগাতে পারেন তাহলে সেটা একটা সবুজ বেল্ট এর মতো কাজ করবে, যার কারনে আপনার বাসার ভেতরে একটা মাইক্রোক্লাইমেট তৈরি হবে। 

মাইক্রোক্লাইমেট কী? এই ধরুন আমাদের দেশের একটা ক্লাইমেট আছে, এখন সেটা গরম। তবে আপনি যদি চান এইখানেই আপনি কিছুটা যায়গা নিয়ে আলাদা এক রকম ক্লাইমেট তৈরি করতে পারবেন আপনার ইচ্ছে অনুয়ায়ী।  ধরুন আপনি চাইলেন একটা নির্দিষ্ট যায়গার তাপমাত্রা আশপাশের চেয়ে কয়েক ডিগ্রি কম রাখবেন, সব সময়ে যেনো শীতল লাগে, সেটা সম্ভব, এবং সেটা মাইক্রোক্লাইমেট তৈরির মাধ্যমেই সম্ভব। জাহাঙ্গীরনগর ইউনিভার্সিটি সেরকম মাইক্রোক্লাইমেট এর একটা চমৎকার উদাহরণ।  

মাইক্রোক্লাইমেট সৃষ্টির জন্যে অনেক গুলো বিষয় নজর রাখতে হয়, এই যেমন সুনির্দিষ্ট গাছ, জলাধার, সঠিক স্থানে স্পেস তৈরি ইত্যাদি। 

সেই সুনির্দিষ্ট গাছের একটা নিম। এমন আরো কিছু গাছ আছে। এই যেমন, দেবদারু, জারুল, মেহগনি।
